Apple Health permissions

StepDerby asks for permission to read step count from Apple Health. Steps are used to move your cat, calculate challenge progress, and show current race status in the app.

Shared challenges

Shared races use iCloud so invited racers can join a challenge. In the current beta, iCloud does not upload raw Health data.

Apple Watch and widgets

StepDerby can send a derived race summary to Apple Watch and widgets so your challenge progress, rank, and recent race status are easy to glance at.

What to include in a support request

Please include your device model, iOS version, whether Apple Health access is enabled, the challenge type, and what happened. Screenshots help when something looks wrong.

Privacy

StepDerby is built without ads, third-party tracking, or selling user data. HealthKit step access is used for the race experience.
